Description
There’s not much room for variety in a Christmas pageant. Everyone knows how it will go—until this year. Mrs. Armstrong suddenly breaks her leg and can’t direct the proceedings, and Mrs. Bradley is going to have to step in. Perhaps this wouldn’t be too much of an upheaval, but there are six more problems coming:
The Herdmans. A rough-hewn group of siblings from the wrong side of the tracks. They heard about the pageant, and they are here for the lead roles, the glory, and the free snacks. And they’re bringing their own raucous style with them.
The usual time-tested cast members have strong objections, the ladies of the church are clutching their pearls, and the church building itself will be caught in the crossfire before all is said and done. The Bradley kids especially are ready to pull their hair out. They see how it will all end, and it won’t be good.
